Usually Tesla Coil’s are for teleporting to different dimensions but sometimes they like to relax and bust out some music. I think the first track is Booka Shade.

Ed is working on a photo ethnography of NYC’s bicycle culture. He has
been photographing alleycats, goldsprints, the vintage Schwinn clubs of Bushwick, (a block from my house) road races, track races, Bicyle Fetish, the Bicycle Film Festival, etc, etc.
Now, he is doing some portraits.
So grab your bike and a friend or two and find him (us).
Williamsburg Bridge
Friday 6/22
6PM to sundown
No fancy lights, seamless backdrops or air conditioned studios. Just

Going along with the 10,000 other events happening this weekend is Coney Island’s annual Mermaid Parade. From the website:
The Mermaid Parade celebrates the sand, the sea, the salt air and the beginning of summer, as well as the history and mythology of Coney Island, Coney Island pride, and artistic self-expression. The Parade is characterized by participants dressed in hand-made costumes as Mermaids, Neptunes, various sea creatures, the occasional wandering lighthouse, Coney Island post card or amusement ride, as well as antique cars, marching bands, drill teams, and the odd yacht pulled on flatbed.
Somehow I always ended up missing the paraded by being to tired to bike out there but I think i might actually make it there this year. Starts at 2pm.

Should be a great party this weekend. Trouble and Bass will be representing with Star Eyes, Zak Shadetek, and Mathhead.
Has anyone been to this venue before?

If you haven’t been to the McCarren pool parties in Williamsburg your truly missing out on the best free way to spend a Sunday afternoon. The first one of the season starts this saturday the 24th with Superchunk from Chapel Hill, NC.
If the whole guitar and singing thing isn’t for you there will be plenty of great DJs playing such as Brooklyn’s own, The Rub

Pretty accurate depiction of the NYC rave scene in the mid-90′s. Some big names show up in this when they were still pretty young; Scotto, DB, and Adam X
From the director:
Nominated for Best Short Film at the 1996 Sundance Film Festival, “Rave On” gives an inside look at the New York City rave underground of the mid-1990s. The first HD-originated film ever nominated at Sundance.
Thanks BreakfastScienceBoard for the find.
